Welcome to Year 4!
Meet the team
This week, in science, we had to predict, plan, organise, carry out and record data in order to answer the question: Which area of human tongue tastes different tastes?
We tasted different liquids on our tongues...
We predicted what we thought would happen to our sense of taste...
and then tested our ideas out!
and then recorded our findings...

Dedicated dragon slayers, petrifying beasts, brave warriors, and encrypted runic messages - this is just a taste of what has been going on in Year 4 recently.
Through drama techniques children had a chance to put themselves into dragon slayer’s shoes. They got entirely engrossed in decoding Anglo-Saxon messages written to the king (thane) from the battlefield.
Not to mention all the fun whilst playing hockey on a sunny afternoon. The game looked so interesting that even Mrs Maynard could not resist the temptation and joined in with the children.
It is a shame you were not there to watch the match. Maybe next time spectators will be invited.

Latest Class News from Year 4
The Year 4 dream bedrooms, all of which were outstanding, should have made their way back home by now as we are now fully submerged in our second theme of the school year, Weather and Climate Around the World.
One aspect of this includes measuring and recording weather so could you please save a jam jar and any empty cardboard cereal packets you may have as they are ideal for making rain gauges and anemometers.
Art lessons will include studying the work of Kandinsky and, if we are successful at mastering the skill of drawing curves from straight lines, we should be able to produce 3D examples that will be for sale on the Year 4 stall at the Christmas Fayre.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
