As we are not in school for the next two weeks, you might like to use the link below to pray the Rosary with your children and family.
At St Mary's, our daily class and school worships are supported by Ten:Ten resources who provide weekly Gospel-rooted assemblies, videos, stories and interviews with real people as well as activities which children can complete as part of their class worships.
Week commencing 4th October
Worship focus: Jesus would have opposed the 15th Century proverb ‘children should be seen and not heard’, as demonstrated in this week’s Gospel, where He welcomes children despite others trying to keep them away. Jesus commends the open-heartedness of children, which is explored in this assembly through an interactive film about how trusting God can lead to peaceful, loving decisions.
“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” Mark 10: 2 – 16
Week commencng 11th October:
In the Gospel story of the rich young man, Jesus tells us how difficult it is to enter the Kingdom of Heaven when we have many possessions. Through a film called ‘Grandad’s Treasure, children will be encouraged encourage to think about what is, and what is not, truly valuable in their lives.
“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Mark 10: 17 – 27
